Direct primary care (DPC) is a model of healthcare delivery that eliminates the insurance middleman and provides patients with direct access to their primary care physician. DPC typically operates on a monthly membership fee rather than fee-for-service, and offers extended hours and same-day/next-day appointments. The goal of DPC is to improve the quality of healthcare and lower costs by reducing overhead, enhancing the doctor-patient relationship, and promoting preventive care.
