Dr. Friedman is a Professor of Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She was educated at Northwestern (BSM, MD, MPH) and Johns Hopkins (General Internal Medicine residency and Geriatrics fellowship). She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and is proud to have been among the first group of physicians board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine in 2017. Dr. Friedman serves as the Director of Clinical Studies and as a Board member at the non-profit Rochester Lifestyle Medicine Institute, where she works with an amazing, dedicated team whose goal is to improve people’s lives and health, and to change medicine as we know it, using the principles of Lifestyle Medicine. She is the founding Director of Lifestyle Medicine at Highland Hospital, a teaching hospital of the University of Rochester system, where she has a clinical consultative practice and teaches trainees about Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Friedman’s passion is healthy aging, and developing systems to ensure that all people have the opportunity to age well, with their best function, cognition, and quality of life possible.
