PiT is excited to announce a unique opportunity to get involved in a National Research Project regarding Lifestyle Medicine in Medical Education. Participation in this project will not only be an easy resume builder but also an opportunity to get valuable research experience, connect with others in the lifestyle medicine community, and contribute to the future of lifestyle medicine education. Please sign up using the link provided and review the information below for more details.

Sign up here or email trainees@lifestylemedicine.org with questions about this opportunity!

Students/residents will be taking the lead on working with your institution to recruit participants for the study and administer a survey via 2-3 email waves over 2-3 months. Identifying a faculty mentor will be helpful in navigating this process. The Principal Investigator for this national study, Dr. Mark Faries, will send a letter of support and provide the survey, as this study already has IRB approval for national distribution. As a result, additional IRB approval at your institution should be fairly quick and easy!

Research Abstracts and Publication

Once done, you can serve as the first author on any abstract research presentations that you would like to submit. Be sure to put this effort on your resume!

All the data in from each institution we be gathered in order to determine 1-3 larger publications that can come from all the data. We will determine those research questions and distribution of effort at that time.

Time Frame

Now – Jan. 2017: Recruitment of leaders/trainees and Identification of advisors
Spring 2017: Additional IRB approval and Data collection at each institution
Summer 2017: Data analysis
