Dr. Eduardo Sanchez is the Chief Medical Officer for Prevention at the American Heart Association and clinical lead on Target:BP, a joint initiative with the American Medical Association. He previously served as Vice President and CMO for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and led both the Texas Department of Health and the Department of State Health Services. Dr. Sanchez holds degrees in medicine, public health, and biomedical engineering from institutions including UT Southwestern, UCLA, Duke, and Boston University.

Dr. Richard Carmona, 17th Surgeon General of the United States, is Chief of Health Innovations at Canyon Ranch and a Distinguished Professor at the University of Arizona. His extraordinary career spans medicine, public health, the military, law enforcement, and higher education—shaped by a personal journey from high school dropout to decorated Special Forces veteran and top graduate of UCSF Medical School. He continues to serve on numerous boards addressing national security, health, and business.
From Populations to Patients: Bridging the Public Health and Clinical Care Divide
Dr. Diana E. Ramos, California’s second and first Latina Surgeon General, is a distinguished public health leader dedicated to improving the wellbeing of all Californians. With over 30 years of experience as an OB-GYN, she has held leadership roles at local, state, and national levels, including the California Department of Public Health and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. A South Central Los Angeles native, Dr. Ramos holds degrees in medicine, public health, and business, and was honored in 2024 with the Latino Spirit Award for Achievement in Public Service and Health.
Dr. Bobby Mukkamala is a long-standing leader within the American Medical Association, having chaired the AMA Council on Science and Public Health and served in multiple leadership roles at the state and local levels. He is a past president of both the Michigan State Medical Society and the Genesee County Medical Society, and continues to serve on their boards. Deeply committed to public health, Dr. Mukkamala played a key role in addressing the Flint water crisis as past chair of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.

Dr. Erin Brackbill is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The University of South Carolina (USC) School of Medicine in Greenville and Prisma Health Upstate. She serves as co-chair of the ACLM Pediatric and Adolescent Member Interest Group (MIG), she is a member of the HEAL MIG and serves as co-chair of the South Carolina (SC) AAP Pediatric Healthy Lifestyles Committee. Dr Brackbill works at the Center for Pediatric Medicine, a pediatric resident teaching clinic serving the largest population of publicly insured children in SC. She comes to Lifestyle Medicine with a health equity perspective and loves helping children and families to live their healthiest lives.
Dr. Sachin Jain is the CEO of SCAN Group and SCAN Health Plan, one of the largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plans in the U.S., serving over 300,000 members across five states. He previously led CareMore and Aspire Health, held senior roles at Merck and CMS, and was the first Deputy Director at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. A Harvard-trained physician and MBA, Dr. Jain is also an Adjunct Professor at Stanford and serves on several national health and policy boards.

David Eisenberg, MD, is Director of Culinary Nutrition and Adjunct Associate Professor of Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He founded the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative and has led the “Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives” conference since 2006. A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Eisenberg is a board-certified internist and nationally recognized leader in culinary and lifestyle medicine education.

Dr. Susannah Bernheim is the Chief Quality Officer and Acting Chief Medical Officer at the CMS Innovation Center, where she leads strategy on quality measurement and evaluation of innovative health care models. Previously, she directed quality measurement at Yale-New Haven Hospital’s CORE and completed her medical training at UCSF, followed by advanced research fellowships at Yale.

Dr. Kate Goodrich is the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Humana, where she leads clinical strategy across insurance and CenterWell, including physician engagement, health equity, and research. Prior to Humana, she served as CMS Chief Medical Officer and Director of the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, overseeing national quality programs and health standards. A practicing hospitalist and clinical professor at George Washington University, she also serves on the boards of Project N95, the National Clinician Scholars Program, and the National Quality Forum.
Dr. Jasdeep Saluja is the co-founder of Aroga Lifestyle Medicine, where he applies a people-first, evidence-based approach to help individuals achieve optimal health through sustainable and repeatable programs. A former hospital-based internal medicine physician, he is now an international thought leader in Lifestyle Medicine and a Diplomate of both the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He also serves on the ABLM Board of Directors and is passionate about empowering patients to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
