Dr. Stephen Turner Residency Director & Faculty Scholarship

The American College of Lifestyle Medicine and American Board of Lifestyle Medicine are pleased to offer the Dr. Stephen Turner Residency Director and Faculty Scholarship, an all-inclusive lifestyle medicine certification scholarship for residency directors, associate directors, and faculty interested in adopting the Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum into their residency program.

Application Opens: January 20, 2025

Application Closes: March 1, 2025 at 11:59pm PT

Results Notification: April 15, 2025

  • One-Year ACLM Membership (retail price: $249)
  • LM2025 In person Conference Registration Nov 16 – 19, 2025 (retail price: $1,349)
  • Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Board Review Course, 4th Edition (retail price: $899)
  • ABLM Exam Registration and Certification Fees for 2025 or 2026 (retail price: $1,798)*

*ABLM 2025 exam registration deadline is September 30, 2025 at 6:00pm PST

Scholarships are available to Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Occupational Medicine* physician residency leaders interested in learning more about lifestyle medicine and in implementing the Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum program at their residency site.

  • Scholarships are available and limited to one per US residency site
  • Sites already implementing the Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum do not qualify*
  • Individuals who have previously received the scholarship do not qualify
  • This scholarship is only applicable for those seeking to certify in 2025 or 2026. Exam registrations are final and are not transferrable. No extensions are possible.

*While our current focus is on obtaining new sites and residency leaders from the program types listed above, we gladly welcome and accept applications from residency leaders representing all specialty types and from new programs within already-established LMRC sites.

  1. Create or sign in to your ACLM account and complete all required application questions.
  2. Customize your personal statement by describing your professional journey and how the scholarship will assist you in adopting the LMRC. Include:
    • What drew you to your specialty and lifestyle medicine (LM).
    • LM initiatives in your community, workplace, or residency program.
    • Plans for utilizing training to benefit residents, patients, colleagues, or community.
    • Leadership or commitment to LM.
  3. Submit your application by March 1, 2025 (11:59 PM PST)
