This course:

  • Explains why the lifestyle medicine pillars are important for overall health

  • Lists conditions when to seek additional health professional assistance.

Stacia Johnston, MS – Stacia is the Director of Health Equity Advancement at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She is passionate about health equity and it’s role in helping to improve the lives of historically medically underserved communities.

Bryce Wray-Nelson, MPH, DipACLM – Bryce is the Program Director for the Crossroads Partnership for Telehealth. He is dedicated to public health initiatives related to therapeutic lifestyle interventions.

Melissa Bernstein, PhD, RD, DipACLM, FACLM – Dr. Melissa Bernstein is an associate professor and chair of the nutrition department at Rosalind Franklin University. She is also an author of many nutrition textbooks.

LaTaya DeJesus, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, FNP-C, DipACLM – Dr. LaTaya DeJesus is the founder and CEO of Eden Health Restored, a lifestyle medicine direct care clinic. She is dedicated to providing evidence-based practice, innovation, and culturally competent care to diverse populations.

Kelly Freeman, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, DipACLM, FACLM – Kelly is the Director of Workforce Development at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Her background includes military and rural health, primary care, and geriatrics.

Karl Karch, BS, MPA, MAT – Karl is a retired police officer, Navy veteran, yoga teacher, and educator who first learned about lifestyle medicine through his own experience with a health crisis. He now frequently shares his experience and expertise related to stress management.

Who will benefit from this training?

The Community Health Worker Training is designed for all individuals striving to meet the healthcare needs of those in their community. Being a CHW is not required to take this training.

What is the format of the content?

The training includes seven video presentations covering the six pillars of lifestyle medicine.

Is this content accredited for CME or CE?

This course does not offer CME and is not designed for those seeking professional education credit.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

All participants who complete the training and complete the questionnaire at the end will be emailed a certificate of completion.

How recent is the content?

This training was developed and launched in 2024.

How long do I have access to the content?

There is currently not a cut-off date of when you can no longer access the content. However – it is recommended that you download and save all resources and tools so that you have them available once the training access ends.

Is this training available to those who live outside the United States?

Yes, this training is offered globally.
